Pinkdot.sg

After looking at my super empty and silent tag board makes me real sad.. who doesnt like to hear comments?
looking at the date of my last entry was even more disheartening! like DUH.

this blog is almost obsolete! ka-pish!

Well, something really interesting must have happened/about to happen which is why this god damn lazy bum is typing away on her lappie..

Technically, that is my motivation to blog!

pinkdot.sg

Unfortunately, I wont be able to attend the event that is to be held tomorrow cuz of work.. man.. the kids just ended their exams.. now that's gonna be a challenge to get them to do the comprehension excercise I have prepared for them.. anyways,

Pinkdot.sg will be held tomorrow, 16 May at Hong Lim Park.. and I'm gonna miss it! urrgghhhh..

The event is gonna be all pink! How prett-Ay! :) :)

It's basically a simple call for open-minded Singaporeans to come together to form a pink dot (Red & white(colours of Singapore) = Pink! Plus, We have pink ICs you know!) to just show our support to the freedom of (LGBT) lesbians, gays, bisexual and transgender to love.

I aint no homo-phobe neither would i be expecting a more than just Male/Female as an option in the gender category each time I fill in a form. But I just honestly feel that Who and How you love is your business, not mine. Yes, selfish and self-centred it may sound but that's the only sound way that you can embrace this issue. No doubt we manage to eliminate racial and religious discrimination on paper and on the surface but sometimes it is so deeply rooted in us that we cant help but ask of the victims/criminals' race and start passing stereotypes like putting them in a box! However, when it comes to sexual discrimination, it's not much of a difference, really. We all know the innuendo about sexual discrimination. How we snigger each time we see a transgender or even pass rude remarks about how they express their love in bed.. and yes, the list goes on... just like how we crack racist jokes and how even one can be racist to its own race( ehem!). We all laugh about it and it ends there. No racial riots nor tension. I dont think we should still base everything on the 21 July incident ( fyi: Racial riots that sparked in Singapore in the 60s) I mean that was the past before we were caught up with globalisation , economic recession ,outbreak of all of these weird unknown flu outbreak and the myriad of environmental issues that followed. Similar to freedom of LGBT to love. Let them love. Love is free, love makes people remain sane in this crazy world. These people may not have choosen this path given the treatment they get in society but you cant change or stop them from loving if it's within them. It's part of their orientation, make-up.

I feel that this metaphoric comic here depicts the scenario well, these LGBT form the minority while ignorance and fear seems to dominate it all represented by the big fat ugly giants! We may feel that transsexual is on the rise for that is what we fear , but isnt it seemingly on the rise due to the nature of society itself of being more open and less conservative. they may have been the population that existed long ago but it's only now that they're coming out of the closet due to the nature of the world being more receptive and open itself. Fear, we all fear what we do not know for it is natural instinct, as animals, we think of the harm something new poses in our ecological system. Ignorance, for how long more are we going to pretend these group of people do not exist and have the freedom to love? Till one of them exist within us, within our loved ones, family relatives and friends?

Random Facebook Quizzes ecetera

Some people may choose to say
Life is box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get..

While some people..
Do not let fate determine their life, instead, they choose their own destiny..

But when it comes to me..
I do not know..
I do not have any answers for sure..
But I am assured..
That slowly but surely..
I'll find my answer as I grow..

Little did I know that I'm far less accomplished than the people around me..
No, no.. I'm not pulling an emo stunt here..
Rather, on a quirky note,
I managed to find myself through my friends and believe me, Facebook quizzes..

Technically, not all the quizzes but after like a 947376488109987990 quizzes this personality test result clearly describes me better than i can ever describe myself..

The result is You are a C - Cautious person.. Cautious people are critical thinkers. They draw conclusions and base action on facts, correctness, the rules and accuracy. They are slow paced and task oriented. They are trivia experts, someone who might appear on Jeopardy. They are very effective in their work. They combine intuition with facts to reach a conclusion. They like to work with people who think the way they do. They like to keep peace. They may not be shy but people find it difficult to read them. They don't show their feelings. They tend to protect their privacy. Aggressive people upset them. They control their environment by understanding the rules and following them. These may be existing rules or their own rules but they will follow them. They study privately to learn about a subject before discussing it in public. *They only start a project when they're sure of perfection.* Perfection is very important to them. They tend to be critical of themselves. They defend their position and support it rather than show flexibility. They think in outline form, frequently saying, "number 1 and b", thinking things in sequence. *They make to-do lists.* They ask, they don't tell. They want answers to their "WHY" and "HOW"

Aha.. Finally... *The reason to my proscastination is so-called well-validated! hahaha...
*They should might as well make me The Post-It TM ambassador for you can always find me writing to do list and the bright yellow post it can be found in anywhere within a 5 metre radius from me..
*And yes.. That's how I can irritate the hell out of my friends! hahaa..

Well, technically when I picked up Rollerblading again this year, He said that my safety mechanism is very very HIGH such that I'll do whatever it takes not to fall or lose grip.
Yup, That's cautious for you alright!

FInally I did not waste 3 mins of my life doing a Facebook quiz.
Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to hear something/someone describing me like a book!

Toodles..

LMW

In this flurry of rushing assignments, i decided to blog!
I can probably hear an array of echoes.. "Slap you la..." hahaha.. that is just a phrase i hear so often!

Anyways, Like my current MSN nick states, As everyone is caught up with the electronic notebook, I am still a very much That 30 cents Blue Pen-and-paper notebook.. sheeshs!

What will I do without my NIE buddies! :)

And as I was busy typing away, mixing all the acronyms, I feel that there should be this - LMW- Last Minute Work. Some people just work better with a riduculous deadline and this should be acknowledged, dont you think? especially when i just toggle with a few of my friend's blog and all of them are just absofcukingly stressed with piling school workload.

People plsss... take care.. everyone around me seems to have caught the virus!
not just the flu virus but the whole grouchy baggage as well!
gosh.. Circumstances have yet AGAIN lead me to my little community of work, school and school mates only. I miss everyone out of NIE.

back to work.. bleah

Last week of Jan

I might as well just make this a monthly blog! Haha..
Anyways.. I still cant believe that this is the last week of January! OMG. Time flies even when you are not really having fun!
Assignment details are all out to kill our social life and we ARE so over that orientation/admin phase! So, wake up Liyana!

Btw, Happy Properous New Year ahead for all Chinese readers who happened to be reading this! Just as to fit into the whole festive and Chinese week( what in the world is a Chinese week!) i went to catch Wedding Game and I soo regret it..erm.. of.. it was a lesson learnt( yup.. it would be contradicting wouldnt it?p.s refer to blog title) At least I know this is my first and probably last time to support the local film industry. Nonetheless, bottom line is I did give it a chance! Have you? :)

My Cousin, Amir from Brisbane came to visit two weeks ago! He grew so much taller since the last time I saw him! If only I can lose weight just like his height spurred! Technically, I should be heading down under with them to start my school term in University of Queensland but thanks to the unavailable modules notified at the very last minute, I had to cancel all my travel plans!
I would like to point out here that, despite the huge dissappointment some time back, I managed to now see the bigger picture and embrace this with full of relief.

If I had left,

1. I would not have gotten this Hp EliteBook for loan by NIE at only $77 for 2 and 1/2 years!
2. I would have been so lost for Year 3 as this semester covers relevant and followed up modules!
3. I would miss my loved ones back home, greatly.
4. I would not have picked up rollerblading.
5. I would not have realized what I'll be missing here thinking that the grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side.
6. Somehow, i got this feeling that this list can get longer but only time will tell. :)

I'll only end at 5.30 while he will end at 9pm on Monday(which means we're not meeting!)
Monday will be 2nd February 2009.
2nd February 2009 will be our 1st anniversary.
Our 1st Anniversary will be our (supposedly) celebration of 365 days of Love and a Lifetime to Come.

Time to look back at our past, and smile because we pulled through it

TOGETHER!

On the 11th day of 2009

Phew! What a start to the year..
Greeted by the oh-so-very-eccentric lecturers and having a quick massage at JP2( for those east siders, the new Jurong Point is all HUGE and expanded!) to deal with un-study-able long hour breaks between lectures!

This semester is indeed a demanding one, with 73486347179 readings and should i add, an expensive semester too! Making it hard for me to stick to my resolutions!! But despite me ranting, i didnt whine and complain as much instead I laughed it off, scornfully of course! My MSN nick reads "Call me Wonderwoman if I survive this semester"... well, this is why..

Mon- 4 lectures with breaks in between but that doesnt make it any better!

Tuesday- Lectures will end till 0730.. oh coolness.. i leave the house at dark and return home very dark!

Wed- 0830- Eccentric Hour 101- My coursemates sure know why thanks to AAE233- Literacy!

Thurs- Tuition and Circuit Training at Amore

Friday-Only 1 Lesson in the morning and Doggie 101 at Stella's followed by Tuition
Saturday- Pri5-6 Mendaki tuition at Hougang Sec School

Sunday- 5 years -6 years old phonics class at Bukit Timah!

This is roughly how my week had been.. and sadly, I missed an old friend's wedding today due to work!
Oh yes.. As I mentioned earlier, Doggie 101 is similar to the Okto's Nanny 101.Upon hearing that Stella got a dog, he was just estatic and even his friend Eliza joined to , well "rescue" Stella from paying the $40 grooming fees and help her learn some doggie care, thanks to their expertise! It is amazing that despite just ending work 5 hours ago, they went home for a nap and turned up to meet us to go meet Twinkle! The whole meet-and-greet session with Twinkle was a fun one since bathing was first on the list! Followed by trimming and some commands like SIT and DOWN. After about an hour or so, the Doggie 101 duo completed their mission of first orientation. Of course, he brought along the Halal Sertu soap for both of us to cleanse ourselves since we came in contact with Twinkle, and since Twinkle hardly salivate that is a plus point! Anyway, Eliza was handling the Twinkle most of the time! This is indeed a pertinent issue for Muslims to cleanse themselves when in contact with dogs, traditionally we need to cleanse using specific measurements of soil and water but thanks to the technological advancement, Sertu is made easier. It is obligatory that we do the cleansing and being responsible for this shows that Modern Muslims can be open-minded since Islam can be flexible if you are responsible.
So here's Year 2 Semester 2...the only thing that keeps me going are my NIE friends...!! Oh I soo appreciate the rides home to Bukit Gombak from Nic's dad!! I mean Id trade anything to be in that 5.30 peak hour crowd at Boon Lay!!
Nic & Lala :)
Xuanie & Ms Leow :)

P.s: That's Him of course, waiting for his turn during his Inline Hockey training while Im doing some of my readings :)
